Rankish noob to distilling but so far have acted as co-conspirator to a friend with a dual-purpose (pot/reflux) setup from Mile Hi.
Our first team effort copied a mash bill I found from Frey Ranch, had good luck getting first result and attempted to improve it by rapid-aging (did a semi-scientific comparison with different toasted oak options - sampler kit, found online)
It was all super-interesting / borderline diabolical entertainment -- putting whiskey in microwave with toasted oak to accelerate (or maybe do nothing but create a safety hazard) the aging.
Definitely changed the color.
Next up blue popcorn / soft red winter wheat effort (another mash bill found online, from the much-loved (and sold out, at $70 msrp) release from a family farm/distiller in DeKalb County)
Anyway, thanks for all the generosity here, cheers everyone
