Alcoengine Copper Pot Still

Hi,
I recently got this pot still on a 2400w digiboil and cooled with a large pump through a 6000L IBC setup,
Works great for striping runs, but the final product after the spirit run has been ho hum, it just tastes, so not neutral.
It actually tastes good until I dilute, then it gets a weird taste that no amount of oak, filtering or flavouring can move.
Ive used tap left uncovered in the fridge for 24 hours and bottled spring water.
i was wondering what your thoughts are on making it into a column as pictured, will cost $170, about the same price as a cheap column anyway.
