Hats off to the men (and women) who roll the dice and share up-close video of their exploits. While their tolerance to adrenaline may be off the charts and definitely 'acquired', by their voices, the rush they must feel on every chase could be crazy addicting.

I have done that, and without all the shouting and hysteria. (Back in the 1960s as a kid, driving across Texas in the back seat of a car. Traveling with my grandparents, we got about that close and were doing 80 or 90mph on the highway, to out run the tornado). But only an idiot would intentionally seek such a proximity. Getting out of the car to lay on the ground did not appeal as a viable option at the time, either.
In Austin, TX. during the 1980s as I was stupidly standing in front of my apartment window, watching another tornado come up the street. I watched the window before me being sucked out of the wall, and the whole roof of a house across the street, being pulled off and swept up into the sky. Awe struck idiot!

But I certainly understand the challenge and the rush having spent periods rock climbing, mountaineering, skydiving, paragliding, scuba diving, dirt biking and mountain biking. We all take risks every day. Some just accept more risk or evaluate risk differently.

IV had like 4 down south Ontario. Nothing big. 2 levelled barns,but luckily nothing serious. Haven't seen one in 10 yrs here. Glad for that. I guess when you grow up with stuff like that you become immune sorta .Just becomes the norm. I'll stay where I'm at and count my blessings. But... Balls of steel to chase that beast

It's definitely the adrenaline rush for most. Some even get it from shop lifting. Winona Ryder worth millions couldn't resist the rush.

Hell yeah! For a number of years I spelunked in wild caves, some with 40-100' vertical drops, always in pitch black darkness. The 300' drop into Dante's Descent was in broad daylight, adding to the rush of sensory overload. The descent took a steady 3min, a 45min workout to climb out.

Figured it was time to quit when my first born was like 2-3yo, but it sure did make one feel alive.

So in 1 year I went scuba diving down a cave, went diving with a 12 foot shark and a 12 foot gator. Would I do that, hell yes because if it can't kill you what's the fun right?!? Well I always have been a little bit off for sure

Yessir! I don't regret any of those times, even the time I slipped crawling through a passage in a wet cave and became impossibly wedged between some large rocks (the more I squirmed the tighter it got). If it wasn't for my mates I would still be there although the cave has since collapsed.

A friend used to work at a glider school. I've never flown outside of a simulator, and had no intention of doing so even before he told his stories from work! I've never laughed so hard and been so scared in my life. How the instructors got the courage to go up every day is amazing to me.
