Old hand at beer making, new to distilling

Post by cm drinks »

Here's the required introduction... probably won't hear much else from me for a while as I read and learn...

Personal background: I live in NE Louisiana and work as a manufacturing engineer. I've been fermenting various beverages for some time - I've made lots of beer, tons of ciders, mead, and even a ginger beer. (I actually got away from brewing beer and did ciders exclusively after my old DIY electric kettle died. I bought a 60L Digiboil back in December and have done about 5 batches since.) But the idea of distilling has consistently intrigued me... when a work friend up and gave me his rig, I ran out of excuses. So here I am, about to buy a bunch more barley, corn, molasses, and other ingredients for making (hopefully) delicious booze.
