Happy Monday everyone. Thanks for the welcome.
The wash for my second ever batch of corn liquor is in its final hours, then on to distillation. I jumped into the process last year after viewing a basic video on FB. I am hoping for a bit better success with this batch over my first. While I found the final product to be quite tasty, I was disappointed to achieve a yield of only about 2.5 qts. My recipe for this batch was basically the same but I made a few slight changes this time, such as a bit more sugar, using distillers' yeast and practicing a bit more patience regarding critical temperatures throughout the process.
So far it looks promising. The wash has been MUCH more active than the first and although it has slowed considerably, today is the beginning of the 11th day of fermentation. I hope to be at the "Still" in the next day or so. I hope to be able to report good results soon.
Thanks to everyone in advance for advice I am sure I will be asking for along the way.
