BSPT to NPT sealing

I ordered a backup prv that I just noticed has bspt threads. I know the threads are cut at different angles. I was wondering if anyone used an extra thick Teflon tape and was successful at achieving a good seal. It won't be here for 2 weeks,I don't want to wait if this is a useless endeavor.
