Hi team,
Former all grain brewer with a new interest in gin. We have plenty of great craft gin distillers in NZ and I'm keen to have a go.
Have recently purchased a secondhand G30 which came with the matching urn and fermenter for an unbelievable price on Trademe. It will need some TLC before use but looking forward to getting into it. Still have my keeping gear so an allgrain beer might be first up.
Will need to purchase a new lid and reflux still - haven't made up my mind if I'll go T500 or have just been researching the alcoengine which looks a little easier to use.
Lots to read!!!

Hey man, I’m in Kapiti-ish too. We’re not allowed to share product, but if you want to meet sometime when you’re up and running to, ah, compare aromas let me know. I was an all-grain brewer, which made the few bourbon’s I’ve made not too frightening, but to get a bit of product you have to scale-up, that’s for sure. Good luck out there.
I can’t sing, but I sing.

Welcome. A background in all grain beer is a great way to prepare for some all grain whiskeys. I made the switch from sugar heads to all grains and haven't regretted it.
There are some great gin threads around here with lots of discussion, both in the tried and true and the recipe development section. There might even be some little gems of info from other kiwis on where to get some of the harder to find botanicals.
