Hey there! So it's been about a year now since my wife surprised me with the Christmas gift of a 13 gal Vevor still...which I quickly learned via this forum comes loaded with risk. But you gotta start somewhere, right? So I read and read and searched and read through the threads, have been gobbling up podcasts like Distillers Talk, and yes, even turn to YouTube occasionally for some visual aids and other perspectives. I'm now one year down the rabbit hole, haven't blown myself up yet, and figured it was time to get registered.
So far I've run UJSSM up to gen 7, done an all-grain bourbon or two, have made several brandies from homegrown grapes and apples, have attempted (but failed) a 100% unmalted oat whiskey, and have tried salvaging an old homebrewed imperial stout as a distillate...verdict still out on that one. I've been a homebrewer and winemaker for about 20 years now; this is just the latest DIY-booze obsession and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks for all the thorough info so far! You guys are awesome.
