For example after squeezing in a mop bucket and filtering in paint strainer, how important is it to allow that for settling ? I have ran a stripping run pretty quickly, and other times I have waited over night. There is normally a inch of trub or goop in the bucket on overnight rest.
This will be a stripping run, 7 gallon charge, normally get 1 gallon down to 25abv after throwing foreshots. 300ml.
My question comes in on multiple stripping runs over multiple weeks. Trying to collect enough for a spirit run. Does the over night settling do it justis or should I bother to wait an hour for example. I feel like the longer the better and let the stuff settle. Cleaner input always is cleaner output.
how much should you rack ?

Re: how much should you rack ?
I think its mostly personal preference and it would depend on who is replying and what their procedures are compared to yours. For example, i strip on grain, so my answer is don't rack and settle for on grain ferments. My neutral washes are already settled when they are finished so just gets pumped right to boiler. My valve is positioned to leave the trub in the bottom of the fermenter.
