i recently took a deep interest in HD since my brewing days are over.
after reading lot's of old books over stills and distilletion, i finally chosen to start my distilling journey.
Thanks for letting me be part of the forum and i am looking forward to share my beginnings with you all.

Why are your brewing days over? Leaving commercial brewing? Anyhow, you have a good leg up with knowledge of how to properly mash grain. Just don't have to lauter now as you can ferment on the grain.
You might want to eventually brew a bit. Once you get started if you use barrels of some sort you end up with fresh barrels, just begging to be refilled with a stout or other beer. I can't wait to empty my rum barrel and be able to put an imperial stout in it.
