Welcome to the forum.
one good piece of advice. Know what you want to make before buying/making a still. Make sure that you get the correct equipment for what you what to do.

Hi Miss Kate,
Welcome.

There is plenty of time. No need to be disappointed if you don't "hit it out of the park".

Mistakes are more valuable than the successes.

Good luck on your journey.

Hi Kate,

My one piece of advice is: don’t be greedy with your cuts.

Nice to have you on board.
Advice: Don't rush, be safe, but have fun doing it... Above all research this forum, learn from the experiences of others.

Welcome aboard Kate, we have a few women here.
Sadie is one who is pretty active.
My advice. Don't rush out and buy the first cheap still that you see, research and find out what sort of still is best for making the spirt of your choice.
And remember , you usually get what you pay for, would you buy the cheapest parachute available if you took up sky diving as a hobby?

Welcome, Kate.

My advise, be prepared to lift things with your legs and not your back, be prepared to learn all things about plumbing and how to connect hoses and pipes in the most weird inch dimensions you never heard of, be prepared to learn the other weight/temp/volume system, being it metric or "the other one", and be prepared to ask for help. Having fun is what hobbies are all about and learning is a never ending journey, and I am 59 and I am learning every day. Great to have you onboard!
