A PID is a useful tool

I bought my PID early on in my quest here, a bit later I bought my DSPR 400. Working with grains a PID helps me with step mashing. For rum washes I use it to take my temperature up to 140°F and then over 3 hours I take that up to 160°F. I use the alarm mode to shut off my Still at 204°, backing up my 400. I use a timer aspect to shut off my still in case I'm called to war or kick the bucket while running. At no time is it used to control boiling temps which was my original purpose for this purchase.
