Does the volume of liquid in the boiler affect the outcome?

Post by 00Buck »

Im so sorry if this is a stupid question but I got to thinking about it.

Say you have a 10 gallon pot and you run it with 8 gallons of wash/mash. There would be less interaction with steam and copper in the boiler itself. Now say you run your still with 5 gallons in it, or about half charged. The steam would interact with more copper on the way up to the cap and lyne arm. Would this affect the final outcome in anyway as far as removing any sulphates(I think thats what I remember them being called).

I know besides the point of what Im asking you need to keep enough in the boiler so it wont run dry, or keep an element covered if it has one. This is more of a would it help flavor any
