Greetings from northern Appalachia
Good evening home distillers. My name is Triston (born well before Legends of the Fall, iykyk) and I'm here for the love of the craft. I've always liked to make things and have a mentality that I can make something I like better. I like bourbon, and thought I could make that, probably better to my liking. That road ultimately led me here. Before I made any purchases I read on this forum seemingly until my eyes bled. Got the wife on board and grabbed a little 2 gallon copper pot/thumper combo and jumped in. Started with UJSSM which looked fairly straight forward. 7 generations in and 6 months on oak led me to discover I'm not a fan of sugar based booze. HBB sounded right up my alley. Despite being terrified of throwing hard work down the drain, I took the knowledge of all 40 some pages and went full send. SCD if you see this, my word what a mighty fine drink. My first drink of it was Saturday at my bourbon loving neighbors. Despite a table full of top teir bourbon, we came back to the 2 week old HBB. Can't wait to fill a Badmo and see where it goes. Hats off sir. Anyways I'm rambling. Im looking forward to learning as much as humanly possible and hopefully passing that knowledge on to others as excited as I am. Thank you all.
