Liqueur from the Netherlands. Principally caraway with some anise, orris, fennel and cumin; minimum 35% ABV. Neutral spirit base originates from grain or potatoes. Kummel is colorless. One of the oldest liqueurs with 'digestive' properties. Bols brand produced since 1575. Others include Wolfschmidt, Fockink, Mentzendorff and Nicholoff.
