- 1 liter of 43% ABV neutral
- Skin of 1 tangerine
- 12 grams of juniper berries
- 3 grams of coriander seeds
Odin's Easy Gin is a gin recipe created by Odin. It's aim is to be a simple gin recipe with a simple herb bill and be suitable for gin and tonics.
Ingredients
- 1 liter of 43% ABV neutral
- Skin of 1 tangerine
- 12 grams of juniper berries
- 3 grams of coriander seeds
Process
- Mildly crush the juniper berries and the coriander seeds
- Add the tangerine skin, juniper berries and coriander seeds to the neutral
- Let it macerate at room temperature for two weeks then filter out herbs, skins and berries OR let it macerate max 24 hours and don't filter it
- Distill the macerated gin slowly in a pot still
- Discard the first 10 ml
- Collect the next 400 ml, which will be around 70-80% ABV
- Dilute to 45% ABV
- Let it rest for 5 weeks in glass.
Notes
This recipe is perfectly scalable. If you want to "do" 5 liters, just multiply everything by 5. You can also go for 10, 20, whatever you like.
The only thing that does not need to be scaled up, is the first 10 mls cut. It can stay 10 mls up until 10 liters of 43% gin maceration. If you distill over 10 liters in one go, enlarge this first cut to 20 mls.
