Pot still I might buy. In need of advice and thoughts.
This is a pot still of Ebay that is in my price range. It holds 4 gallons, and I am a new distiller. Here is the link if you would look and give me some feedback. Also i'm not to good with welding you using a torch. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4G-ALCOHOL-ETHA ... 233wt_1396" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Hi Laxx,
I know nothing about that still but it never hurts to look around and see all your options b-4 buying something. I find soldering copper fittings together to be pretty easy. There is even a guide here about how to solder if you have never done it. Maybe look around the site here and see what others are doing. Also there are a couple of easily found sites that offer decent looking potstill heads for about $100 that should connect right up to a keg sanke fitting out of the box. Of course then you would need to legally source a 1/4 or 1/2 barrel keg but that can be done.
best of luck.

Don't waste your money on that. Advice eBay is generally not a good place to find a still. Most if not all of them are not worth the price they want for them. There are other reputable companies on the net. And some around here willing to build for you. But the best option is to build one yourself. 5 gallons is a good starting point. If you see one that's built on a cheap SS pot like this one. More then likely its not a good deal. Not saying some mite not be. But this is a signature for the crooks that promise the world and give you a big pile of crap.
Don't rush into anything you will regret later. Take your time its not a race.

Alright that's very true. Would it be any trouble if I asked for a couple of links to some basic, but reliable and Inexpensive pot stills? Or if there is someone around me willing to build me I would love to talk to them. Im trying to keep the cost low right now i'm short on $$.. :/ .Prairiepiss wrote:Don't waste your money on that. @ Laxx,
Giving you a heads up – folks frown upon ‘Double Posting’ – posting the exact same posting question in two different Forum postings.
As previously stated e Bay ain’t the best place to look for a Still. If you desire to purchase a quality Still from a reputable reliable company suggest checking out ->
Milehidistilling dot com
Brewhaus dot com
Hillbillystills dot com

I went to Mile High Distilling and I stumbled across the Mr. Distiller. It's in my price range but... I don't know if it will be good enough. I'm not exactly sure tho.

@ Laxx,
Trust me you don’t need any of that “Mr. Distiller” crap. The “Mr. Distiller” is a ‘toy’ and in some respects a very dangerous alcohol sprit distilling ‘toy'. The folks at Milehidistilling should be fully ashamed for selling that “Mr. Distiller” piece of garbage as an alcohol sprit distilling device. Turbo Yeast is positively a big no no and if you know what you are doing Carbon Filtering is unnecessary. Suggest before making any purchase decision highly recommend through complete research. Once again slow down and thoroughly and completely research any distilling equipment you are considering purchasing.
Regards,
Coaster
PS – When conducting your Home Distiller Forum due diligence research/searches use the “HD Google Search” located on the top of each of the Home Distiller Forum pages.
Edited to add the words ‘alcohol sprit’ to my posting.
