Making liquor??

Post by Bullet62 »

Hello everyone, i'm new to this forum
And I was hoping someone could help me out.

I recentely started making alcohol and I started with two batches: cherry wine (mmmhhh :P ) and vodka... It went great for the wine and was pretty annoying for the vodka... it got an infection :esad:
And then came the distillation. A big jam pan and a metal tube found on the street was enough, so a little drilling, little glue and it was done :P

Distilled the vodka batch, and I got vodka, or everclear??? ( when in cut it in two with water, it still burns and as alcohol start to burn at 40 C... )
Then I wanted to make cherry liquor, tried it, and got the same result... pure alcohol

So here is my question, how I am supposed to get a nice, around 30%, cherry liquor??
Is the condenser too long?? Is the distiller not hot enough??

Funny thing is that I can't find anyone on youtube or google that makes liquor, it's like everyones aim was to make pure alcohol :?
