Well as far as flies and insects getting in , I was think some sort of filter setup similar to an airlock but letting air move in both directions. For now I am using gasketed air tight lids on a couple 5 gallon pails. Once I have some answers i will move forward from there.

So I've been making some Pugirum. Obviously started a dunder pit. The question to which I have not been able to find an answer to is fairly simple. Is the dunder pit Airtight or not? it would seem to me that it should be open to the outside air so the neccesary "infection" for lack of a be...

Thanks Bushman! and No Braz... Its a Half scale racing cart that is Radio Control I built. 35cc chainsaw engine. It's about 36" long for scale. :thumbup:

Sounds intriguing...will take more research for sure..but first thought is it will have to wait/be developed as i go since it requires some sort of used material from the boil. thanks for the heads up though!

Scratch that....SINGLE wrap with a cold finger...I'm not a plumber, but there is something to be said as far as experience wrapping condensers. :problem:

Well my Boka is gonna be "modular" for just such a problem. the packed column will be removable from the boiler, and be able to be replaced with a potstill head and column. The main reason for the Boka was simply for the ability to make "purer" spirits when I get tired of rum or ...

Well, as far as type of spirits goes,I guess in my mind (if i can ever catch up to it) I have an affliction for rum. Good old fashioned pirate brew! The plan is to make a bunch and then age it in some toasted casks, and hopefully come out with some reallllly nice sipping rum. Im not expecting my fir...

Just taking a moment to say hello to all :wave: ... Some background info on me-> Been in building construction for 20 years, mostly commercial stuff. Always wanted to make my own spirits, but information was hard to come by in my area, upper midwest U.S. Then I found this site! Wow! long story short...
