Can't wait to see the fabricated copper part that replaces the cardboard placeholder. The style on this puppy is great. Awesome.

Re: Cigar + Drink Pairings
This past weekend I smoked one of my AF Brevus cigars with a nice smooth rye on the rocks. It matched up pretty good. But it did not match up with the brown ale I tried. Wow it tasted like crap together. I normally like stouts so I'm thinking I need a heavier flavored cigar for beer drinking. But f...

Re: Cigar + Drink Pairings
I dabble in the cigar area, but struggle to find anything of worth in australia (im sure im looking in the wrong place). This is more the fact Im not exactly sure what I should be looking for, and what prices I should expect to pay. The cigars I have smoked have been the average Henry Winterman's f...

Re: Cigar + Drink Pairings
Arturo Fuente make some fine cigars. My two particular favourite vitolas are the Hemingway short story (perfect spring morning smoke) and the Cuban Belicoso from the Sun Grown range. The Belicoso is a marvellous cigar, the sun grown range having a particularly earthy note to it. I have previously li...

Re: Cigar + Drink Pairings
Cigars are a great love of mine. Living in the UK I have the great benefit of an excellent selection of Cuban produce, but with contacts (and formerly a residence) in the US, I have been able to take advantage of (and smoke many hundreds) of north, central and south American cigars. Is there a cigar...

Not my own, but fun: "I saw a documentary on how ships are kept together. Riveting!" "I took part in the sun-tanning Olympics – I just got bronze." "I was raised as an only child, which really annoyed my sister." "I'm good friends with 25 letters of the alphabet … ...

Even though I have not posted a great deal I have been lurking for a while. My received wisdom*cough*knowledge is the accumulation of Ddnrhead, rad14701, samohon (a fellow Brit) and the inimitable Mr Piss. I am indebted to all of you.

Re: Home Bars
I am about to build my second home bar (my first one in NYC is no longer my home...) Been desiging it on an awesome tool called Google Sketchup. It's essentially a credenza with two stainless steel shelves above it to hold the spoils of my mixology Design pic and a target "look" below (she...

Re: Fire extinguishers - what do you have?
PrariePiss (Mr Piss? is that the right nomenclature?)
I was thinking CO2 because I don't want to have 2x extinguishers in the kitchen - as I am sure you are aware a water extinguisher is not a particularly good idea for an oil fire which is conceivable on a stove (I shall be cookin' on gas)

Fire extinguishers - what do you have?
For those of you with experience in extinguishers, I am considering getting one for my apartment still. Have been looking at the charts but wanted to bolster what I think I have concluded with some personal experiences or other options on the choice of extinguisher to use. I am leaning towards a CO2...

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your kind introductions. Rad's equipage has naturally piqued my interest. I think that, plus a cheeky little gin basket might serve my purposes beautifully.

This site will be the death of me!
Hello folks. I'm Einy (pronounced eye-knee). I have neither still nor fermenting equipment yet, but have spent the last three weeks voraciously consuming the copious quantities of wisdom, good advice, safety rules, recipes, humour, horrendous stories of people using plastics, feuds, drunken misposti...
