Here is the pot still head I've been working on for fast stripping runs it's going to go to a vertical shotgun condenser and use a keg for the boiler

Well I really enjoy a good vodka and that would be ideal but I think I would like to try to make a really good rum also one of my favorites im currently working on a pot still for stripping runs and whiskey

Shark bite fittings are a no no there's plastic in the vapor path and if you use brass be sure to pickle it

I know the packing isn't true spp but I made it out of old wire it seems to work really well my take off speed was just under a broken stream

Jk I spaced the plates 2 in apart and used a piece of 2 in copper pipe flattened out I didn't notice the potato gun in the pic until GA said something that thing is a blast once I get my wood stove in I'll have plenty of fire starter ready

Well I finally got the chance to get my much anticipated first cleaning run and sacrificial run done today it went very well cuts were very easy to make by temperature I ran 5 gal of birdwatchers at 12% and got a half gallon at 180 proof and about a pint at 110 I would like to thank everyone here fo...

I say go for it I have quite a bit of experience with a very similar trainer you will learn a lot with one of these in a very short amount of time the only thing I suggest if you haven't already formiliarize yourself with ladder diagrams

So I've been sitters here looking at the above and I was thinking about condensers would it be an option to put back to back 90s at the end of the lyne arm to a liebig or even run the lyne arm horizontal to a 90 to a shotgun condenser

I've been checking on it every day it hasn't even formed any ice crystals and oddly enough my air lock hasn't frozen either but my 55 gal drum of water for my coolant is a solid block of ice

After about 8 hours worth of work I have 20 pounds of homemade spp ready for my column I found another thread about cleaning so I soaked them in citric acid and vinigar for 2 days and here is the result

A 1/4 in needle valve is easy to find they are used all the time for air conditioning lines just find somewhere that sells refrigeration hardware

Thanks everyone for the quick response and in regards to odin's questions I started with 500 mcm wire because the individual conductors aren't perfectly round like normal wire I started with a 24 inch piece and wrapped it around a 1/4 inch shank in my drill it ended up about 3 inches long then I cut...

The braided stainless lines is brilliant just rhe answer I've been looking for on my boka build to go from rhe lieberg to the coil and I think I have some left over from the last remodel just need to dig
