More cooling with my rods, Might not add more percent(over 93%) but will reduce the amount of cooling water I have to use. And if I have and Rod problems, I can disconect 1 to 2 rods with out upseting to much.

Mine works

Mine works, and the idea of the cooling rod is to cool the beads in the column to add another reflux in the column itself, between one rod and the rod beneeth it. It alows only the lighter alcohols to pass and the better ones, with double refluxing the heavier alcohols. You can do with out the extr...

Try this

The design is good

Add another cooling rod at the bottom or two. 1 in the middle

Might give you a extra reflux, and a extra 1-2 %

?

Why you want to my credit Peachey , yes Its the one off my site, Just thought you'd want some info on it.

The % I quote on the web page it a hot percentage (around 40oC) scaled down to a 20oC temp.

So a 94% a 40oC = 92% at 20oC

+ i'm not taking credit, It was soo much cheaper than the other one

We use one

I'm using a Still Spirits reflux still modified as "Peachey" said and I stuffed a copper pot scrubber inside my reflux getting 93%, Last time one test came back at 94% I was happy, You will use less water to, running at 74oC+

Any questions email scrb@bigpond.net.au

For one the reflux will have a eisier job of stripping all the other stuff from the alcohol. Making it more efficent at its job.
