femermenting beer

has anyone ever tryed fermenting already fermented commercial beer to increase alcohol percent??? if i did would it turn out like whiskey when i distilled it??? i heard whiskey mashes arnt the same as beer mashes or soemthing like that so im not sure

No go, Army. Commercial beer is very carefully controlled to get maximum yield. Nothing left to ferment. I suppose you could add it into a distillation, and see how it comes out, but I'd add it after your wash fermentation is done.

There have been a few posts in the past about distilling beer. I believe the two main problems with distilling beer is that it foams a lot and the hops give the distillate a strange taste. Supposedly if you are wanting to distill beer, your best bet at a quality product is trying to make gin.

when u say make gin do u mean add the beer to the distillate then redistill it?

No, if I’m not mistaken he means you distill the beer into a tasteless product (no bad taste from the hops).
