Rum barrel

Post by rwmetalman »

This may be a bit off topic but I recently finished filling my 5 gallon oak barrel with some rum that I had made. The boiler on my still only holds about 3 gallons so I had to make many batches to fill the barrel. I just had to say damn I didnt think I would get so excited about banging a bung on a barrel. A full barrel of rum is such a pretty site. My wife doesnt appreciate the barrel all that much nor does she care to take any intrest in it, so i thought I would share my joy with my fellow distillers.
I would also like thank everyone who puts work in on this site. I am rather new here and everyone has been a big help. I have learned a ton of information.
Thanks to everyone. 8)

Very cool, rwmetalman. Gotta be a good feeling.

How long do you plan to age it? Or in other words, how long can you last

Let us know how it turns out.
Lord preserve and protect us, we've been drinkin' whiskey 'fore breakfast.
