stripping run temp?
I'm a little confused about the methods for a stripping run. Do you heat things to a higher temperature so you get a nasty spirit and have less things like sugar water in the way for the second run? What temp works best for a stripping run? Is this the same principle as making a brandy so you vaporize some of the wine flavors with it? I use a pot still, thanks!

It is usually run a bit quicker than a final run (but you could do it at the same temp as your final run if you wanted to)
Dont make any cuts, collect everything that comes out until it is coming out at about 20% or so.
Do this a few times until you have enough for a final run.
Run your final run SLOW. Make sure to get rid of ALL foreshots, and make your cuts according to the kind of spirit you are trying to make.
If you make a 20L wash, and strip it,
make sure to toss the first 250ml as foreshots from the final run.
BUT if you REALLy want to learn more, read this site http://homedistiller.org onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow inside and out, then read it some more. And then refer to it again, and find more stuff to read that you may have missed. Finally, when you have read the whole site and you think you have it memorized you should realize that you are wrong and just read it again.
