What is it about cola?

I started cutting back on carbonated drinks (with phosphoric acid) a couple of months ago. My new triple distill white shine (3 days old) when drunk with a fruit flavor drink or orange juice or even kool aid has no taste. When mixed with equal parts water it taste fine. I happened to bring home a fountain coke yesterday and naturally mixed a little in. Somehow the cola seems to bring out a green (raw) whiskey taste that isn't there with anything else. Anyone else experiance this?

I'd guess the fountain Coke had gone flat, try a fresh one next time.

I have noticed that too. Cola doesn't mix well with any of my spirits accept my heavy rum.
