Would aging affect the taste of my "nuetral" product? (i run my sugar wash through my potstill twice, and it still has a somewhat "sweet" flavor to it)

When i make vodka with my pot still I run it through 4-6 times. Twice isn't enough to have a clean product. Make sure ya take out enough heads... they give that sweet taste ya don't want in a vodka.

Agein' will definately help. A couple of months stored in glass with a cork will smooth it some.

Water, taken in moderation, cannot hurt anybody.

Just like THM said about the heads. Make sure the product is free form heads because just a bit of heads will make all your vodka taste sweet. Just like the removal of foreshots I way over do it when taking out the heads. In a 20lL sugar wash you may have around 250ml of ethel acitate. I take about 750ml and keep that seperate. I just use this to make liqueurs that are very sweet anyway in then the sweet spirit blends right it.
