sugar cane juice
what happens if i use fresh sugar cane juice for the mash, i live in venezuela and we have many people selling this in the street as refreshment, its very original from our countries here in northern southamerica

Yes, you will make rum if you use sugar cane juice in your mash and then you distill it. You will need to age and spice it for it to rum once it is distilled.

Yes. Fermented sugarcane juice will make rum. If ya ferment straight sugarcane juice it should ferment out to about 7% at 25 degrees C. in about 2-3 days.
Bakers yeast will work well.

thanks, i thought that, my first distilling experiment was like that i used pure fresh sugar cane juice and let it sit in a beaker for three weeks with a plastic bag sealing the top, after this a heated the beaker with the bag still on it and i had a rough smell of acohol and a few drops of it condensed in the bag

it was a good starting experience, in that moment i fell in love with distilling.
that was a year ago and for the last 4 months a have been reading and researchig on haow to make my onw still
