I thought that snake bite was a mixed drink with sweetened lime juice and Yukon Jack. I think Yukon is a sweetened whiskey. Its been 10 years since I drank this. Sorry, I don't have a familiarity with the Snakebite by McGilliucutty.

I would sugest this avenue for experimentation and reaserch.
Make uncle jesse's simple sour mash and distill to whiskey.Use sweetened lime juice to dillute the proof to a reasonable level. Of course you could age it like a bourbon before dilluting...if that is what you like.

good luck.

Yea, if you order a snakebite here in the states, it dependes where you are ordering. Beer (only) pubs serve a 1/2 cider+ 1/2 lager or ale as a snakebite.
