Cleaning question

Post by CincyNewbie »

I've read cpl of posts about using vinegar and salt/baking soda to clean the still after using it, but I haven't found anothing on the first initial cleaning after construction. I'm worried about getting the inside clean good enough because of the flux.

Will the vinegar solution be enough?

Thanks,

Most ppl like to run a basic high temp steam cleaning after doing some elbow grease scrubbing with differnet solutions. The trick of it is, you have to get all that stuff you used to try and clean it with OUT. Lots of water is your friend. Try some different solutions on some scrap copper and then go for the gusto IMO.

i used some watered down hydrocloric acid, stuff you get from pool shops for few $$, swish it through then flush out with vinegar baking soda method. Then heaps of water.
i found some of the black crud after brazing doesnt come off no matter how much you scrub.
