Moonshine Stills in the News
We all talk about how law enforcement is not really interested in the person distilling for their own use and enjoyment. But, arrests do occurr and they make the news. If you see where a still has been seized and it is covered as a news item, post it with a link so that we can get an idea as to what gets the local law enforcement interest. For example, here is a link to a North Carolina seizure in 2002: http://www.wral.com/News/1444131/detail.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow.

My guess is that the still in the middle in the picture in front of the Catlettsburg Courthouse in over 100 gallons. In the one photo labeled raid of a moonshine still 2 to 3 miles out of Ashland, I counted 50 mash barrels and three stills. Also, you can see that they are using a doubler in the same photo. The still cap is a unique design for me, I haven't seen that particular style before.
