Ok i found some more info out about Vanilla . You can get CLEAR imitaion vanilla which has vanilla and some other things in it to give it flavor without the brown color.
So my question Should i put the Vanilla extract in the Wash at the begining of fermination?
Or should i add it to the spirit after the fact?
ANy ideas

How bout if you threw a couple of vanilla beans in a pot still with a couple gallons of neutral spirit and did a quick run? It probably would give you lots of vanilla flavour with no colour.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.
The last batch I made had stunning flavour, though not strictly Vanilla (it included cinnamon, clove and star anise), but it did suffer from the "is that a sample?" comments due to the colour.
This batch will be run through the still with the split pods after about 3 weeks to steep. Hopefully I can keep the still cool enough to retain the more subtle flavours before blasting it to grab the heavier oils from the vanilla pods.
