Molassas Question

Post by Enlikil »

I bought 5 gallons of Blackstrap mollasass from the Animal Feed store. He said it was Beat molases not cane molasses. He said it was Unsulphered beat mollases and it was really bitter.
My question is.. IS this the right stuff?
the only other molasses i found was at the grocery store and it was 5 bucks for a 24 once jar.

Anyhow is there any difffernce between this molasses and What you guys use?

Thanks all

follow those links to all the beet sugar info you need...

I think it depends on what you are making. I think beet mollases may work to make a vodka, but that bitter flavor will come through in a rum. Beet sugar and mollases are mainly used as fuel ethanol ingredients...

since you bought it already then go for it... I'd love to hear how it turns out.
