Should Heads and Tails be saved to distill with the next batch or is it a waste of time?

I ran vodka over the weekend and had over 3 gallons of heads and tails. (it was a big batch...) I sure don't want to waste that.

There is a huge amount of ethanol in the heads/tails (be sure to toss the true foreshots). It is a waste to toss out this product. It is not usable by itself, but you can obtain much of this "usable" product at a later distillation.

The trick about heads and tails is that you have stuff that comes out at high proof and stuff that comes out at low proof. When you combine them, you have middling proof. So much less bandwidth (so to speak) for them to come over on.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, and them's pretty good odds.

Well soon as liquid starts coming from my worm, I'll let the first bit hit the ground till it begins to feel and taste right, then I start collecting till I get down to about 80 proof, I set all this aside to keep. I then keep running and collecting in another container ( where I'm from, we called this Singles ) and I keep running down to about 40 proof. The next time I make a run, I pour the singles back in the still along with the fresh beer and cook agin. :P

If it comes out of the spout you dont throw it out (foreshots excepted)!

Foreshots also make a great accelerant for lighting fires.

if you are a budding arsonist, or if you just want to quickly light the wood
pellets you use as an intermediate to light your coal stove...

Foreshots are actually lacking in Methanol, but are LOADED
with even more flammible Ethyl Acetate which smells and burns like
Acetone... and if you distilled in cold ambient temps you might have actually captured some Acetaldehyde (which boils at 20degC)
which gives "flammible" and "low flash point" entirely new meaning...
