Hello,

We share images on the forum, but have you ever thought who could be looking at these pictures we post, like the ones of our stills, we sign up to image hosting services, they know who we are, like Photo bucket, Image shack, distilling is a fast growing hobby, what happens when it gets to the point that the powers that be, say, hang on, this is getting out of hand now and they decide to have a purge on people who distill their own spirits.

Just my thoughts.

I wouldn't worry too much, it might be illegal but unless you are doing it for profit, the cops will leave you alone. No-one seems to get busted in Australia.

people get busted in the US, but I have never heard of anyone getting busted who was simply making hooch for themselves. I am sure it happens. Be ESPECIALLY careful after things like a divorce or other "civil" disagreement with neighbors, as I am pretty sure that if the authorities get tipped off that you are making "illegal" liquor, they are sure to come asking a question or two.

I have only heard of one prosecution in my area and that was for supply, lots of people do it here.

the local RCMP sergeant has sat in on more than a couple of friendly cookoffs. They're not concerned about private use, but if you start selling it's only a matter of time before you'll get a knock at your door. There are far more important things to take care of in their line of work.

Out here the only problems anyone has had is getting bootlegin charges for transporting, but that usualy just when the cops want to be jackasses. My gramps actualy got fined for bootlegging charges last year because he had 2 cases of store bought beer in the back seat of his truck on the way home from the liqour store, lotsa stupid laws in the U.S.A., especialy in Texas.
