Reusing cuts from different recipies?

Post by riff42 »

As the subject says....do you reuse your heads in your new run, if it is a different recipie? I reran a stripping run of wine, and a bad barley mash, and I don't know if I should stick them in my new sugar/molasses mash I am doing next?
or, should I keep the sugars together, and the grains seperate?

and NOW I realize I saved the wrong side of the runs.
I added the heads with the body, and seperated the tails to save in another run.
oi.

That is fine,
What I have been doing lately is pushing my heads thru a activated carbon filter(to use for flavored drinks like kaluah, peppermint schnapps, strawberry panty-dropper,etc), and saving the tails to do an "All Tails Run" at a later time.

Well you certainly could, but why would you want to.
Your rum may be PDG by its self and the forementioned BBM might ruin a good thing.

Save the stuff, and figure out what to do with it after you know what your doing yourself.
Not trying to beat you up, just use some logic!
If it was easy everybody would do it.

well, I will defiantly be saving the new rum wash seperately, since it finally IS a good ferment. i guess we shall see what to do with the old runs later.
