Any females in the forum?
This hobby suffers slightly from a grizzeled old man with a long beard stereotype. I'm currious if there are any females that view the forum.
I'm sure there are at least one or two.
Go ahead ladies, debunk the myth.

Kato...back to that metaphor...
I think what you meant to say was:
Look, it's not the size of the column that counts. It's not the size & power to the boiler. It's not the speed that the vapor travels through the column or the packing you use. It's the REFLUX RATIO that makes it last longer & come out stronger.
PS. No kidding... I make panty remover, but I never heard of boxer dropper, but I suppose anything could be called boxer dropper... we are so easy.

Now, wait a minute guys....as a woman I don't expect a man to do for me. I don't expect the fruit of his labors, nor do I expect him to put out. I like a man who wants an independent woman, not one who insists she "fetches" the beer and beans. And I do like men, unless they expect me to hop to it and obey, or try to put me "in my place." I've divorced two guys for that. Third time is a charm, they say. And it's true. Found the right guy the third time around.
Just a newbie here - this is my first response.

You are the first female to respond to this thread.
I have a semi old fashoned copper rig, but I haven't found a way to post pictures anonomously(spell?).
If ya don't get any good hootch (at first...practice makes perfection), at least you can make some good paint thinner.

Thanks for the welcome, possum. I sure would like to have some hootch. My dad's uncles used to make it, but that was long before my time. Right now I'm writing a book about 4 feisty old women who make moonshine and grow the other kind of high. The latter I can have, the former makes me jittery. It just isn't fair. Stupid hypoglycemic body.
So I'm in the process of painting a bookcover for my old ladies' story. I think it's time some old women teach us life can be for the fun of it. I've distilled their personalities from old women in my family.
I thought I could learn some things from this forum.
If you know how to send pictures by email maybe you could send a picture of your still. How would that be? - or do you have big brother concerns, like we all do.

Hello again everybody
Froggy has gone off for a shower so finally I am able to sneak a turn on the computer.
Stoker suggested I introduce myself so here we go:
My name is Froglet and I am a Learner Distiller! Dragged into the trade by Froggy, I am now secretly beginning to enjoy it and my current mission is to try and have an actual conversation with Froggy about the more technical side of stilling. I am a bit stuck on the old offset head design but I think we will get there.
I am enjoying reading the site but I'm not surprised there's a distinct lack of females on here... you guys can be a bit scary! And as previously mentioned it's not a very feminine hobby.
Having said that, Froggy's excitement gradually wore off onto me so that I even got a bit giddy when he showed me his new copper bits today. Maybe you boys should be on a mission to expel all your excitement onto surrounding females too??!!
now that sounds gross so I'll finish there
I hope to be able to contribute properly to the forum soon.
Thanks!
Froggy's favourite person
Some truth to that.froglet wrote:I am enjoying reading the site but I'm not surprised there's a distinct lack of females on here... you guys can be a bit scary! And as previously mentioned it's not a very feminine hobby.
And I am DEFINITELY not touching THAT one!froglet wrote:Having said that, Froggy's excitement gradually wore off onto me so that I even got a bit giddy when he showed me his new copper bits today. Maybe you boys should be on a mission to expel all your excitement onto surrounding females too??!!

You already have. Typical female, as soon as she moves in to a new place there's some urgent redecorating going on, a new colour scheme, etc.froglet wrote:I hope to be able to contribute properly to the forum soon.

Seriously, enjoy yourself. We are really a pretty friendly, helpful bunch, underneath that gruff blokey exterior, and this is a great hobby.
P.S. Great signature.
Be safe.
Be discreet.
And have fun.
