sugar wash

Post by damtender »

Hello all,
I'm quite new to distilling. Am building a valved reflux still....all copper etc. by the book but lack the last few fittings to complete it. Got ahead of myself and made a 6 gal. sugar wash with turbo yeast. Let it settle for a few days and syphoned it into another container. Question: can the wash sit as it is for a week or so until I get the still finished or can it sour or go bad in any way? Thanks

keep it sealed, it will be o.k. After all it is now about 14%abv, it's really just a bad tasting wine. :D
It is most absurdly said, in popular language, of any man, that he is disguised in liquor; for, on the contrary, most men are disguised by sobriety. ~Thomas de Quincy, Confessions of an English Opium-Eater, 1856
