I'm not sure how many people here a interested in games but I just bought a nintendo wii (i swore never to buy another console after gamecube) on tuesday and to put it simply, I'm impressed. They lost my faith after the flop with gamecube but the innovation that went into designing an entirely new way of playing games (if you dont know what im talking about and are interested, look up wii on wikipedia and go to wii remote) has earned my respect again. I actually wanted to play it more but my arms were so exhausted from hours of baseball and tennis that I physically couldn't. What has impressed me the most though is I'm past 30 hours of play on a single battery pair on the remote. I has wireless, infra red, motion sensors, rumble and a speaker to power but seems to last over 30 hours on 2 AA.
The graphics are a bit lacking compared to the 360 but thats not what its about. It has to be experienced to be appreciated.
So for anyone getting next gen my vote goes to wii. They're even trying to get rid of their kiddy image by releasing an m rated zelda, which is also really good btw. oh and its the cheapest here in aus by a mile at about $370.

I've had one since release, and it just gets better and better with each passing day. Super Paper Mario is one of the most innovative games I've ever seen. Check it out, and you'll understand.
Tiger Woods Golf is good too, and I rarely go for sports games. Once you get past how annoying it is to go through the menus, it's quite intuitive and fun.
