I'm sort of searching for my personal ultimate bitters recipe. I love herbal liquors, and would very much like a nice complex digestif without too much sugar in it. Becherovka came close, but was a little too sweet. Campari was nice as well, but a little too bitter and bile-y for me.
I know, of course, that the Becherovka recipe is secret and has "over 100 ingredients", etc etc etc, but has anyone tried to produce a suitable clone?
I also notice there are several recipes for Chartreuse on the main site here. Has anyone compared any of these versions? Do you have a "favorite"?
