heres a pic of my 3" shotgun condensor. sits on top for VM set up or ofset to the side for LM.
this is a pic of my "internal crossflow liebeg. has 7 10mm tubes going thru the bore of the 1" tube. flow of water goes spiraling up around and thru the central tube. these were fun to make. got to you my milling machine and lathe.
last pic is the pot still setup with liebeg. stripped 45% low wines at 1L every 12min.
i was cleaning out the still with water during that run. i catch in a grad cylinder.
the condensor has thru tubes going at a 45 deg angle to the main 1" tube. i set up the 1" tube on a milling machine and bored holes thru the 1" at a 45 deg. angle. then slide a smaller tube ie: 3/8" thru the bored 45 deg holes. drill each set of hole at 90 deg to the next set. thats why it looks like a cross from the inside. so coolant can flow around the 1" tube and flow thru it as well. the angled tubes create a turbulent flow for for efficiancy. hope that helps. gman
Hmmmmm. If one managed to pick up a pile of copper pipe for a dollar, this may just be a bloody good use for it.
Can you post a sketch of your pot still giving dimentions, glassman. Thanks.

Simple potstiller. Slow, single run.
(50 litre, propane heated pot still. Coil in bucket condenser - No thermometer, No carbon) The Reading Lounge AND the Rules We Live By should be compulsory reading
these boys got one but they used 3/4 water pipe used a ballpeen hamer to flair the ends. they only used eight on there condencer - diferent type -. they thought bout conectin em all together usein t an y but life got in the way an heavy enuff to tote allready.
looks like you can turn true you ever bore any barels
goose, can't say i turn true. i'm more a machining hack. been to lots of auctions over the past 30 yyears and scrounged a lot of toys for cheap. never turned a barrel but thinking about building a scale gatlin gun. 22 cal.
i've got no drawings of the still but it's made with 3" copper. shotgun is ~14" long 3" id. had a 20' length for about 20 years so that and some ebay fittings made it a good project.
getting my 22L flask next week so i'll be starting the glass still soon. can't deside on a boka style or what yet. keep you posted. gman
