Back from Yahoo and limbo

Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.

Back from Yahoo and limbo

Post by Brewpastor »

I used to post on Yahoo but it has been years. I even have a couple of my stills pictured in the equipment section (pot and fractioning).

I just rebuilt one of my stills with a dividable column (1/3 meter and full meter) using a vapor management set-up on a half barrel keg boiler with two electric elements (750W and 1500W). I have one of my "cold-finger" heat exchangers on it and a simple counter flow condenser on the outlet.

I am a die hard brewer, former microbrewery pro and I am looking forward to seeing what this forum has to offer.

Thanks to all in advance!

Always interested in builds, looks like you have your cold finger and condenser hard piped inplace?

I do, I figured it was easier that way. Besides, I had the copper to do it!

I must admit I wasn't really aware of the Yahoo distillers until a few weeks ago.

I just found it to be a PITA and I started getting a bunch of junk-mail, so I just dropped out.

I spend a lot of time on HomeBrewTalk.com and love that community. This has much of the same feel. I am glad I have found you all.
