Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.
Here is a pic of a fix to an almost mistake.
I had way to much sugar in my first wash, so with the advice of members here I diluted and added some tomato paste to my wash. I had some left over so I re-used the water jug instead of throwing away the extra.
Enjoy. Though some others that are wet behind the ears would like this!

Don't like to bust your bubble or anything like that - and I don't know what type of climate you have or temperature variations etc. but where I live and by not using controlled environment systems, sometimes it can get a bit cold quickly and at the end of a ferment when the activity slows down, the water in the jug can actually get sucked back into the ferment due to negetive pressure inside the fermenter vessel (sucking back contaminations etc..
While I admire your ingenuity, I think a coiled pipe or 'U' bend with some water in it will work just as well and better for whichever way the pressure works.

Hey, I see your operation is being continuously monitored by your furry helper in the tank. Can you power your boiler with him in that cage?
Sometimes when you pick up your fermenter with an air lock on the water will suck back in as well. I did that once with a plastic carboy. After that I started filling my air lock with cheap vodka so if it does get sucked back in it won't matter.
ok thanks for the heads up, I think I read that on here somewhere also. and I wish I could use her to heat it up. She is actually one of about ten I have that I breed to feed my other pets.
All joking aside..its a warning about the danger of a child falling head first into the bucket and drowning. That "projection" is one of the child's legs.
