I guess Im a geek also because I love this stuff.Ive been reloading 30 cal for years, and have done all that monkeying around to get the right load for the right gun.No one will call you a geek when you take out your target at 500 yards.

Love this stuff. Been reloading 30 years.

Got a 1000 meter range built on a power line right of way. Best I ever did with a .308 is 16 out of 20 in the black on a 24"bull.

600 meter steel targets are the most fun. Learn to play the wind.

16 outta 20 in a 24inch bull @ 1000 meters--damn I earn my living carring a gun for 4 months of the year--I sure wish I could shoot that good.
Thanks for the good read Jesse--I have a lot of respect for the swede mauser--I've got maybe 4 or 5 .300 mags laying around but most times I hunt with a .303 Brit. I gotta .348 model 71 winne that I carry bear huntin.

I have a Gustaf made in 1906 that I completely restored - it is a beautiful thing.

Those were some of the best made rifles in the history of rifles.

It is the best I ever done...maybe I should re-phrase it and say I only done it once. :) Probably average 10/20 on a good day w/no wind. The ammo has to be perfectly consistent and let barrel cool to ambient and clean between each shot.

3.5-10x by 50mm mil dot scope. 1000m is too far to be able to quarter bullseye with crosshairs. Secret is to adjust magnification to just were it completely covers bull with crosshair. If you can see any part of bullseye, you're off.

This trick can be used on "man size" silhouettes also. >DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT ADVOCATE POINTING A FIREARM AT A PERSON, MUCH LESS SHOOTING ONE!< Just adjust power until the target "disappears" when covered.
