favorite cigars?

Post by stillsmokin »

A cigar so happens to go along great while doin a run.

I like a good cigar, but I don't like super-premium prices. I've tried many, but not them all.

Lately it's been Bolivar Cofradia or Sancho Panza. Anybody else like the heavier bodied? Also lookin for a good/affordable if anyone's got a favorite.

My kindda friend!...Your description sounds like my plight.

I too enjoy full-bodied cigars. I don't like to pay premium pricing, so i buy my stuff online.

I really enjoy padron 3000s...They are great!

Also, for the money, Consuegras can't be beat. They are factory seconds from several great companies. Man are they good for the price. Not all of them are perfect but they are a steal for what you pay and how good they smoke...I think i've bought over 100 before and I sure do like 'em.

WOuldn't mind sharing some more about cigars on this forum either!

I bought a single Padron once, can't remember much detail, but I remember lovin it.

I've seen Consuegras advertised and considered them, thanks for the input.

I've bought mostly online also, 5-packs from Atlantic at first, now mostly from JR. I've also recently bought from FamousSmoke, I think I was lead there lookin for Diablos.

I liked Belinda Black for a few 5-packs so I decided to buy a box, halfway through that box, the rest tasted like something terrible! rancid, horrible lingering taste. I store them properly, so somethin in the make of'm I guess.

I've really enjoyed a value brand named Flor de Oliva. I have only had the regular line and have been VERY pleased. I really want to try their Gold and maduro lines.

I also like the Astral Perfeccion. I got a great price on a box and man was it a smooth beautiful smoke. Held on to the long ash and the nice whispy white smoke lingered and tickled the nose. Great on the palate and wasn't hot or bitter. I smoked this one down to the fingers!

I've bought from L. Lynn and was very pleased. They have consuegras on sale again--very tempted!

Never had belinda black, but i do like trying new cigars. @ L.Lynn you can buy singles so if i order a box I usually buy several singles so that I can try some different ones before buying a box or a bundle of something i haven't tried.

Flor De Oliva look interesting too.

I wish I could order a box of 20 different as a "custom order". I did buy "herf in a box", still workin through that one. It's a box sized sampler of 20 or so goodies.

I failed to mention I smoke maduros almost exclusively.

I'll try anything extra fuerte.

really want to try a Gurkha.

plenty of cigar forums out there, but I'm good with the occasional discussion here. (more interested in stillin)

same here...nothing like a great hobby and a small side interest that you can do while your waiting for that special batch to ferment or cook off

Just remember not to let that stogie anywhere near the precious results...it's hard to concentrate on the cuts or the great taste of a cigar if you blow yourself up!!

Long live the shinin' and smokin'!

I'm a Gurkha Grand Reserve guy. Light to medium body, and triple dipped in cognac. They have several medium to strong body cigars, but are pricey. Grand Reserve is 12-15 dollars, depending on the store.

A little off topic but I tell ya what, Ybor city is one heck of a party place. I visited in '02 and I'm still smiling. :D (Didn't get a cigar though)

I couldn't agree more, Coops! If you don't have a good time in Ybor, you don't have a pulse! I'm headed down on Monday for a job in Clearwater. I fully intend to "take in the sights and such" as well.

I was buying whole leaf tobacco and rolling my own for a while before I decided to stop smoking.

Sancho panza or Cigars international has a Macanudo Hyde Park knockoff that is delish. Especially with some fresh UJSM distillate. :D

I'm more of a pipe smoker myself. But, the best cigar is an Oliva Series V double toro. They're mad back ordered for ever, but if you ever get one, it's the way to go. They're only like 6 bucks depending on where you get it, but it's rated between 94 and 96. Excellent cigar with almost a nutty flavor to it, with a cigar buzz that would make you legally intoxicated behind the wheel.

I prefer a Acid Kubba Kubba. Some don't like them because their some what of a flavored cigar. I also really like the kentucky No59 factory seconds. They are a cheaper cigar but really good. As a matter of fact I'm smoking one right now as I type.

Kuba Kuba isn't drew's best cigar. I prefer the liquids myself followed by the natural line.

Cigar

Since I live in the state of Washington, tobacco taxes are very high. I order cigars from JR Cigars on line. They have a line of imitations which are very good. say about 30.00 a box...

sancho panza double maduro, cao italia and i recently had a 5 vegas that was given to me that i liked. the sancho is so cheap and is actually one of the best ive had (good flavor and strength combo) so i usually stick with it. cigarsinternational seems to have the best prices on most and some nice sales on occasion. ive sampled quite a few of the cao lines and most are pretty good, but the sancho remains the winner for now.

best cigar ive ever had i dont know the name, i hiked to the top of a mountain and spent the night up there, met some folks and was given a cigar in darkness...was awesome. wish i knew what it was.

If you order cigars online does the state come back on you for the taxes. My wife was ordering cigerettes online and we got a 1200 dollar bill in the mail for the taxes. We live in michigan. It probably depends on the state

favorite cigars?

Post by birdwatcher »

I have just had two sets of friends return recently from Cuba. I always give them $25.00 to bring me back Cohiba cigars.

I now have a box of 5 panetelas and 3 Siglo 111s in boxes. (about a six inch panetela. My cost was in fact $55.00.

I'm sure these puppies could be simply mailed to the States without being checked out. (unsolicited birthday present)

Anyway, I'm not supposed to be smoking. (mild heart attack last November; now have two stents)

PM me if you are interested and make me an offer. In Canada the eight cigars retail at around $240.00
