white sugar is just fine but do not put as much in as they call for that pushes yeast too far and develops bad taste unless your making fuel

Turbos are a great way to learn the basics of Distilling and Fermenting, but dont think you'll like what you drink. Even in a reflux still at high reflux youll still get an off taste. i would re-distill two or three times for a clean product, and like what he said dont push what the packet says, use 1/2 to 3/4 of the sugar. Another thing using dextrose will be considerably more expensive then sugar. Ive tried both and dont see much a difference other than the wash will finish faster with the dex. After your comforable with your still and fermenting, try the sour mash, to simplify it dont sour, and dont cook, then move up to the more complicated recipes!

I'm impatient, so I use the clearing agent from the Brew Store.

I also use 6 - 7 Kilo of white sugar, but make sure its well dissolved.

I use to use sparkaloide, but dont anymore. I find a get a bit of a taste in my distillate when i used it. Just wait till its all done fermenting, stir like he said and wait a week. you can always rack it off in a secondary, that will get most of the crap separated then wait a week, it should be fine.
