What do you think about taking shine on a plane?
I'm going up to see my brother in law and I wanted to bring some along so we can have some, but we are flying there. TSA says that you can bring up to 5 liters of alcohol less than 70% checked in your baggage. Now what do you guys think? There wouldn't be a way for them to tell that it was moonshine right? I was gonna put it in a water bottle too or some plastic because I think the glass might break. Have any of you ever done this before?

Actually, blanik, I recently checked with Qantas, and on internal flights you can carry booze (2 bottles I think) on as hand luggage, as long as you do not drink it on the plane. But you can't carry any on international flights.

Can't carry on anything more then 100ml, but you can still check them in your luggage

You are correct, hook. I was thinking international, but I wouldn't risk it anyway. Some of those security blokes are fucking nutters.

pretty sure it's most international flights, not too sure about the 100ml thing on domestic flights , I am from Canada so all my flights leave via the states. If I was to fly with shine, I'd bottle and cork in the green wine bottles, then shrink cap em'. Look pro if you left original labels on em too!

I know in the states you'd be hard put to get shampoo on a plane these days.

I wasn't going to carry it on I was going to put it in a plastic water bottle in my luggage. If I did that how would they even be able to know that it's not water?

Box it up and ship it UPS and check it as flammable liquid, overnight it if you want and have him or you pick it up at the hub when it gets there. That's what I'd do.

Any liquid in an unsealed bottle would be inspected/confiscated.
The labeled wine bottle with the shrink wrap seal is the best suggestion I've seen.
Shipping by UPS in wine bottles would be the other way to go. (If it's cut to under 50%, I wouldn't worry about the flamable tag)

Re: What do you think about taking shine on a plane?
The only reason I said anything about the flammable tag is that maybe if one bottle got broken they'd assume that maybe it was isopropyl alcohol and disregard it, of course that's assuming they'd give a crap about breaking something anyway.
