Weather

Post by Godstilla »

We just had a Thunder storm while I was running my still. Pretty damn cool having the hard rain hitting the tin roof while running. What is your favorite weather to still in?

I actually like to run when its really cold out. I mix food grade antifreeze in my coolant water so it doesn't freeze, then move the coolant tank inside. This way, I can heat my shop with my waste heat, and I don't have to keep adding ice to it when it gets too hot. My boiler is well insulated so I don't waste too much gas.

If we get a really hard freeze though, I have to drain everything just in case it does freeze.

Same as BW but I sort of shut down in winter and do my "experimenting" with small ferments and some of the "specials"

Love the sound of rain on the tin roof. Prefer temps in the mid 60's F. Currently getting down to the mid 30's in the shop :( I'll keep at it for a few more weeks though.

Starting to get very hot in my shed. Although it's quite good when i open the big door as well i get good airflow.

Currently putting a hardwood timber deck on the verandah front of the shed, so i'll have a nice shady spot to sit in the open of an afternoon now 8)

The big shame is that i have to move anything i put on there to open both doors

Pity too, cause it'd be a top spot for a small table and two chairs to get away for a quiet convesation from the main crowd fifteen feet away under the entertaining area.... :|
