Re: Popcorn Sutton
It would nice if someone could capture, convert and upload it. I know it's a big ask but it could be done whilst tending your still.

A weathered moonshiner hiding out in the recesses of Southern Appalachia carves out a space by a creek to make one last run of white lightning. As he and his partner clear a space, build the still piece by piece, and work through the process of distillation, an ancient craft is revealed, along with an entire way of life that is quickly passing out of existence. The story unfolds along with a lifetime of memories in the illegal liquor trade.

Since i watch tv on my computer, it's easy for me to record tv programs in mpg format. an hour and half would be probably about 1.5gigs though. I'll set my scheduler to record it, see what happens. I dont think the mods would want to deal with possible copywrite stuff by putting it up.

Re: Popcorn Sutton
Once converted to AVI it will be a third of that, however......I wasn't aware that it was that doco they were showing. I believe I saw a post by the producer in another thread, if that is the case than I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be kosher.
Edit.....I was still asleep, why didn't anyone pick me up on that glaringly obvious mistake?

Just got done watching this. Not to bad, I like how he says a 50 gallon still is a piss pot. Makes our 5-15 gallon stills look like a ant.

I guess this is why the old bugger is facing court and probably the slammer. Sad but true.

Simple potstiller. Slow, single run.
(50 litre, propane heated pot still. Coil in bucket condenser - No thermometer, No carbon)
The Reading Lounge AND the Rules We Live By should be compulsory reading

The one popcorn sells "The last dam run of likker I'll ever make" is a more indepth of popcorn during the same run. It has more footage of him and no interveiws with others.

Re: Popcorn Sutton
It also shows him using normal lead solder, not doing a cleaning run and making no distinction between heads and hearts. I dunno 'bout you guys but I wouldn't drink his stuff.

Re: Popcorn Sutton
When he was selling, he was getting $100 for a half gallon. He had plenty of customers willing to drive long distances for it. Remember that is just a movie of how they would have done it in the old days.
