What possibly would happen if caught running 1 gallon
If you were running a 7.5 gallon beer keg still that has the ability to run maybe 1 gallon of shine and were caught,what would possibly be the fine.Would they even bother with such a small still or would they more likely just tell you to not let it happen again??????

Unless you're in NZ you are breaking the law. I guess it would depend on the authority who caught you, but I personally would expect to be in a little bit of deep shit.
Anyway, that's half the fun in this craft. You probably won't be hassled unless you are down right brazen and make it obvious to the world that you are breaking the law, you should be safe. Do you ever break the speed limit? Of course you don't, so where's your problem? Others may disagree. It's really your decision.

Simple potstiller. Slow, single run.
(50 litre, propane heated pot still. Coil in bucket condenser - No thermometer, No carbon)

it about like bein pregnet there aint no little bit you either is or you aint
there was a ole preacher the ole boys noed all there life that wanted to see one run. well they got to the branch an you could see him getin happy feet. he couldnt couldnt sit still. he thought every snap crack sound was the law waitin to spring. if the brach water surged a bit they thought the law had just steped in it up stream some where an was closein in. course the ole boys had to egg him on a wee little bit.
think them ole boys reformed that preacher man. ha ha
he preached the funeral of 3 of the ole boys. he was a true friend.
best advice ole boys can give is - walk in with your eyes wide open an act acordinly -

With today electric fired stills one can run them indoors, out of sight, and with no problems.
As long as one lives alone and ain't selling, the chances of getting caught are slim to none, provided of course you don't do something stupid like start a fire or cause it to blow up.
Hell I've run mine many a times in the back yard in plain view and watched the local sherriff's dept drive by...

I know guys who have been turned in by their ex! Albiet, for other activities than ours, but the principle is the same
